About Us

This six week intensive program was designed for students who hold a career interest in art museums. The coeducational program is directed at upper-level undergraduates entering their junior and senior years, and at those who have recently earned a bachelor's degree but are not enrolled in graduate school. The students will apply their knowledge of art history and related fields for an exciting summer program. The program combines classroom instruction, conversation with museum professionals, and hands-on experience, which culminates in a exhibition mounted in the Smith College Museum of Art. Students also travel to and visit museums, galleries, auction houses and conservation labs across New England and New York. Directed by Suzannah J. Fabing, and co-directed by Marion Goethals.
