    Lynchburg Daily Bread serves a hot nutritious meal everyday of the year to anyone that walks through our doors, no questions asked. In 2017, we provided over 78,000 meals to the homeless and hungry of our community.

    About Us

    Lynchburg Daily Bread is a soup kitchen that serves a hot lunch to the hungry and homeless of Lynchburg 365 days a year. We are the only soup kitchen within a sixty mile radius. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 9:00 a.m. and assist with meal service until 12:30 p.m. Due to Covid restrictions, all meal service is on a carry-out basis. (No dining in.) Volunteers are required to wear a mask. Additional tasks including rolling utensils and napkins together, preparing vegetables, sorting and/or bagging grocery items, and packaging meal bags for children.

    We suggest bringing a water bottle/bottled drink and wear comfortable shoes (not flip-flops). Food safe gloves are provided.
