About Us

Learning and Development Kenya (LDK) is a local non-governmental, non-profit, non-sectarian development organization founded in June 1998 and officially registered with the NGO Co-ordination Bureau as an NGO on September 9, 1999 via registration number OP. 218/051/98202/1207. It works with those who are extremely poor and vulnerable, especially children, youth and women. It is an NGO in Special Consultative Status with Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

LDK was founded with the following objectives: To rehabilitate street children; To provide shelter to orphaned children; To support education for poor children; To support youth with technical skills training; To promote girl child education; To empower women with skills training and revolving loans for income generating activities; and To create HIV/AIDS awareness as well as support scale-up activities.
