NAMI-NYS (National Alliance on Mental Illness - New York State) is the leading statewide organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental illness. As the New York State affiliate of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, NAMI-NYS provides education, advocacy, and support across communities to promote hope and recovery.

We work in partnership with our network of local affiliates, policymakers, and community leaders to ensure that all New Yorkers impacted by mental illness have access to services, supports, and a stigma-free future. Our programs include peer-led education and support groups, training for families and caregivers, public awareness campaigns, and legislative advocacy to strengthen the mental health system statewide.
