About Us

The Longwood Medical Area Child Care Center was established in 1982 to meet the needs of employees of Longwood Medical and Academic Area (LMA) institutions. We provide full- and part-time care for 96 children from ages 2 months to 5 years in a caring and nurturing environment that supports each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

Respect for children, families, and diverse cultures are an integral part of the curriculum, which is designed to promote each child's emerging self-confidence and self-esteem. A consistent program throughout the center provides stability for children and families as they move through the age-designated programs.

The LMACCC enrolls children of employees of participating LMA organizations – Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Public Health, Joslin Diabetes Center, Simmons College and MASCO. Two spots are reserved for members of the community. There is a wait list for slots. We do not discriminate in providing services to children and families on the basis of race, sex, religion, cultural heritage, political belief, marital status, disability or sexual orientation.
