About Us
The mission of Communities In Schools (CIS) is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. We believe all students, regardless of race, gender, zip code, or socioeconomic background should have what they need to realize their potential in school and beyond.
CIS connects over 7,000 students in grades K-12 with the resources they need to stay in school. We place highly qualified Site Coordinators (counselors and social workers) directly into schools to serve the most at-risk students. CIS is the only dropout prevention program proven to both decrease dropout rates and increase graduation rates.
