Mission
Our mission is to enhance the development and well-being of children, adults, and families in need throughout the communities we serve. The agency provides a broad range of highly effective services that help children, adults and families unlock potential and build better lives. Services spanning Early Childhood, Children and Youth Services, Adult Services, and Developmental Disabilities are delivered with excellence and professionalism in an atmosphere of caring, hope and respect. Last year The Guidance Center served more than 26,200 children and adults.
About Us
The Guidance Center (formerly Downriver Guidance Clinic) is an innovative leader in providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and community outreach services to children, adults, and families. The private, nonprofit agency is at the forefront of creating new prevention and educational models to help children and families deal with mental health and substance abuse issues and has a history of responding to the ever-changing needs of the people of Downriver and metropolitan Detroit communities.
