Call Marin Home is guided by the proven framework of the “3 Ps”:

1. Production – Building more homes people can afford.
2. Preservation – Protecting existing affordable housing.
3. Protection – Ensuring strong tenant safeguards to prevent displacement.

We believe that all Marin residents deserve safe and secure housing. We believe that anyone who works in Marin should have the opportunity to live in Marin. While “environmental” is no longer in our name, the values that shaped MEHC remain central to our mission. Call Marin Home continues to champion environmentally sustainable development consistent with MEHC’s founding vision.

Some core activities include supporting projects that provide affordable housing including Vivalon in San Rafael, 1 Hamilton in Mill Valley, 1251 South Elisio in Larkspur, and many more.

We also advocate for policies that affirm the 3 Ps of affordable housing – production, preservation and protections. This includes changes to zoning codes, parking requirements, affordable housing financing and tenant protections.

We track the agendas of the Marin local governments to identify when important housing issues are raised, and encourage residents to speak up for housing. When especially critical issues arise, we will provide suggested talking points.

We also build political will for more housing in Marin. We provide education on housing issues through our monthly newsletter, Perspective, and by meeting with groups throughout the community.
