About Us

Public Allies advances diverse young leaders to strengthen communities, nonprofits and civic participation.

Public Allies Connecticut selects talented young adults age 18 and older for our rigorous 10-month apprenticeship program. Those selected to become Public Allies work on a range of projects in the fields of economic development, education, environment, health, housing, public safety, arts and culture, and youth development at nonprofit organizations in Bridgeport, Hartford, and New Haven. The Allies receive a stipend of $1,550 per month (before taxes), health care and child care (if eligible). In addition, Allies receive a $5,775 education award upon completing the program which may be used to pay future tuition and/or past student loans.

Public Allies CT is looking for motivated young people eager to give back to their communities. Our early application process is currently rolling, and our deadline is April 30th. Please go on our website www.apply.publicallies.org to complete your application.
