The mission of the Arete Project is to educate a diverse new generation of citizens, stewards, and leaders.
Our model integrates
- rigorous engagement with the liberal arts and sciences
- physical labor undertaken in service of the land and community
- democratic self-governance of, for, and by our students
We inspire our students to pursue the cultivation of wisdom, living a good life in thought and action, and devotion to world and humanity.
Our educational community welcomes people of all backgrounds, builds bridges across social divides, honors Tlingit tradition and culture, and serves people from down the road and around the world.
Our home in Alaska brings students into close communion with the natural world through work, play, study, and service, centered at Sit Eeti Geeyi / Glacier Bay.
