Little Miami Watershed Network

Our mission is to facilitate communications, build partnerships and promote stewardship and sustainability across the watershed.

LMWN started when neighbors who were concerned about the trash in the Little Miami River met in 2010 and have been hosting canoe based cleans ups since then.

Since 2010, we have removed more than 34,000 pounds of trash and over 1,200 tires from the river. We work year-round to keep the watershed clean and resilient, to tell her story, and to amplify her voice—welcoming the community while protecting the Little Miami River for years to come. We do this with monthly cleanups in parks, tributaries, and on the river. Education presentations through Stream Quality Monitoring, presentations, camps, and community outreach events. We have conducted studies with the Ohio State University in 2021 and are gearing up for an updated study in 2026.

We are governed by a volunteer board of directors and led by an executive director as laid out by our 501(c)3 designation.
