About Us

All Souls is an historic, progressive church on the Upper East Side that promotes an equal and inclusive workspace. Established in 1819, it is a self-governing community of approximately 1500 people who come together to worship, serve the community, and create an enriching, non-dogmatic religious environment. All Souls is proud of its many social outreach programs. These include feeding the homeless at the Monday evening "Homeless Hospitality", the Friday Lunch Program, Girl Scout troops, and others. All Souls is an accessible congregation dedicated to providing an environment in which all people feel welcome regardless of race, sexual orientation or physical ability.Members of the Unitarian Universalist faith covenant to affirm and promote:


  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
  • Justice, equity and compassion in human relations,
  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all;
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence, of which we are a part.
