Where "Patient Care Comes First"
Founded in 1971, Community Health of South Florida, Inc. (CHI) was established to provide health care to the uninsured and under-served residents of a growing South Miami Dade County. The Doris Ison Health Center is the principal facility and named for the founder of CHI. Beginning with two trailers to see patients, Ison complelled doctors to volunteer their time and legislators to fund what is now one of the largest of nearly 1,000 such health care systems in the United States providing quality primary medical, dental and behavioral health services including urgent care. CHI has grown to eleven (11) health center locations, 37 school based health centers and outreach programs offering a wide array of services including primary medical care; OB/GYN; Imaging/Radiology; Laboratory; behavior health services; dental; optometry, etc.
