About Us

The mission of Morris Arts is to engage and build community through the arts.

Our innovative programs:

Inspire artistic expression and creativity in schools, the workplace, public spaces and communities. We provide high-quality educational programs, workshops and residencies for students and community art experiences that improve quality of life, build stronger communities, and create positive social change.

Connect artists, residents, businesses and community organizations interested in making Morris County more culturally rich and accessible while celebrating our diverse community. As the leading resource for the arts in Morris County, we seek to remove cultural, language, physical and economic barriers to participation in the arts. We provide professional development, technical assistance, teaching and exhibition opportunities for New Jersey artists.

Engage the community in meaningful opportunities to create, experience and appreciate art. Our popular and accessible community arts programs include free and affordable performances, art walks, community-wide arts experiences like mural projects, and opportunities for area artists to exhibit work.

Advocate for the value and positive social and economic impact of the arts in Morris County. We foster conversations, events and programs about the value of the arts and administer the re-granting of state funds to between 20 and 30 local arts groups each year, helping to ensure the organizational and fiscal health of partners across our region.

Attract and develop mission-driven public and private investments to ensure long-term financial and organizational vitality. This new, formally-stated goal aligns with our commitment to stewardship to enhance the Morris Arts' identity, visibility and value in the community.
