At the heart of Chicago urban, troubled South Side of Englewood for 25 years Helping Arms Interim Housing program funded by The Department of Family support Services has targeted the population of homeless families and those who are at rick for the same. The proposed program seeks to serve a minimum of 16 unduplicated clients, in the form of (16) homeless families of single women or men and intact families with an average of(4) child, male and/or female, up to eighteen(18) years of age. The program consists of independent living in a setting of (4) individual apartment units of 2 bedroom, separate kitchen, living room and bath. Over the past 25 years the facility has successfully operated a housing program for homeless that re-house homeless families within a 120- day time frame using a comprehensive case management, refer and link families to resources to housing, employment training, counseling, life skills and other intensive needs to assist witth mainstream resources.
