UMCE Senior Companion Program

  • About Us

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension's Senior Companion Program (SCP) provides opportunities for volunteers age 60 and over to provide companionship and support to homebound adults, most of whom are also seniors. Senior Companions are “friendly visitors” who provide one-on-one companionship. The Senior Companion Program seeks to reduce the isolation of homebound individuals and to enable them to continue living independently. SCP is part of the National Senior Service Corps.
