LOS ANGELES FIRE DEPARTMENT FOUNDATION
Mission
About Us
First responders in Los Angeles face an enormous array of challenges: wildfires, car and truck accidents, train collisions, earthquakes, and hazardous-material leaks and spills. Firefighters must endure searing heat, exposure to carcinogens, and other life-threatening conditions; paramedics are rigorously trained to respond to all types of injuries, from heart attacks and strokes to accident-related traumas, shootings, and drownings.
Founded in 2010 by a committed group of community activists and business leaders, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation serves to strengthen the overall preparedness and responsiveness of the LAFD. Our focus is on public safety: We support the department by helping to invest in equipment, training programs, and public outreach to help these men and women excel at their jobs.
They are heroes, here to serve us - and the Foundation’s mission is to serve them.
