Catfarm

The Catfarm is an off-grid community welcoming travelers, (digital) nomads, artists, entrepreneurs and anyone with the will to explore an alternative lifestyle closer to nature.

Located on a farm on the outskirts of the medieval village of Poussan, near Montpellier, we play host to an ever-changing array of wanderers that want to go beyond dreaming and start doing. Founded in 2012 when Ulysses, the son of owner Ruud, invited volunteers to join him in repaying a debt to his father by rebuilding and renovating areas of the farm, the Catfarm is named after the colony of stray cats which had made it their home at the time. Since then, we have continued to provide a home for roaming souls, and have slowly gathered together an international community of creatives and travellers to create appealing ways to demonstrate self sufficient living. We aim to develop our own lifestyle in harmony with nature, as well as building links with the local community and educating people to reduce waste, work together, express their creativity and understand the benefits of community life and learning from one another.
