  • About Us

The Historical Society of the New York Courts is an independent 501(c)(3) that brings together a collaborative team of NYS judges, lawyers, historians, professors, and other partners to reach the larger public about the importance of our State history — how it works to promote democracy, ensure justice, and promote the rule of law.

The Society empowers NYS students to be better citizens and create change, builds an informed citizenry through its public programs, captures living history in its oral history program, publishes the unique legal history stories of the State, and develops new and novel ways to shine its unique spotlight.
