Wombs of the World is a global maternal health initiative committed to revolutionizing the way we care for birth, mothers, and those who support them. Our mission is to improve maternal health outcomes worldwide by educating birthworkers, preserving traditional knowledge, and promoting culturally respectful, evidence-based care.
We believe birth is far beyond a medical event- it is a social, political, spiritual, and cultural experience that reflects the health of our entire society. From our immersive doula trainings in Tanzania, Ecuador, Mexico, and soon South Africa, to our growing online education platform and upcoming global Summit, we are building a movement rooted in dignity, justice, and ancestral wisdom.
At Wombs of the World, we envision a future where every birth is safe, sacred, and systemically supported- and where the people holding this work are equipped, uplifted, and celebrated.

Three Branches, Shared Roots!
Wombs of the World is a global maternal health initiative working at the intersection of education, cultural preservation, and birth justice. We operate through three deeply interconnected branches:
We are united by a shared mission: to improve global maternal health outcomes by uplifting traditional knowledge, equipping culturally competent birthworkers, and reshaping systems of care with justice, dignity, and ancestral reverence.
We serve a wide spectrum of perinatal professionals- midwives, doulas, nurses, and traditional birth attendants- especially those historically excluded from access to global education and funding. Our programs are intentionally designed to be inclusive, trauma-informed, and rooted in anti-colonial, anti-racist values.
We partner with local organizations in each country we work in and follow their lead. We are committed to redistributing resources, uplifting ancestral knowledge, and investing in long-term, community-centered change.
Above all, we believe in the power of birthworkers to change the world, and we are building the infrastructure to support them in doing so.
