Books Through Bars
About Us
Books Through Bars works to empower prisoners by providing them with tools for their self-education. To this end, we send out nearly 600 packages to prisoners each month while also providing boxes of books to prison libraries. In addition, we are developing a series of programs for women prisoner, provide special support to prisoners working with political education study groups and coordinate teach-ins and other forms of public education. Finally, we have a prisoner art show that has published a book and calendar of prisoner art and coordinated various art exhbitits. We are currently developing a slide show presentation of prisoner art.
