  • Mission

    The Society for Technical Communication advances technical communication as the discipline of transforming complex information into usable content for products, processes, and services. STC serves its members by identifying and promoting best practices and by demonstrating the economic value delivered by technical communicators. By providing lifelong learning opportunities, we help our members develop their skills and competencies so that they may advance in a variety of career paths. To achieve this mission, we focus our efforts in these areas: Offering continuing education Helping technical communication professionals to succeed in today’s workforce Defining and publicizing the economic contribution of technical communication Promoting the concept that technical communication training develops foundational skills Managing the operations of the Society in a sound and sustainable manner

    About Us

    Build lifelong relationships and advance your career through participation in STC’s global community of technical communicators. STC’s communities involve education, advocacy, and member outreach at both the local and global level. The San Diego chapter of the organization is focused on serving our local community by providing engaging programming that reaches technical communicators at any stage of their career. The San Diego chapter has consistently received the Platinum Community Achievement Award (CAA) which recognizes a community’s outstanding accomplishments in achieving the Society's goals through a wide range of programs and activities.
