    Mission: Vision Health International (VHI) is a nonprofit, volunteer organization dedicated to the delivery of professional medical, surgical, and educational vision health care services—free-of-charge—to the medically underserved populations in Latin America at the invitation of the host country.

    In addition to direct patient care an integral component of VHI’s mission is the capacity building of Latin American medical personnel and the transfer of technology and information to the medical and professional communities of the countries served. Educational activities include direct training of medical personnel in the latest surgical techniques, pre– and post-operative care, specialized oculoplastic instruction, and patient exams.
