The New Teacher Project (Georgia Teaching Fellows-Savannah)

Georgia Teaching Fellows is a highly selective program that streamlines the path to teaching for accomplished professionals and recent graduates. GTF’s rigorous training program – beginning with intensive pre-service training and culminating in state certification – is designed to prepare people without formal education backgrounds to be immediately effective in challenging school environments. At every step of the way, GTF works to ensure that only teachers who prove their ability to raise student achievement enter and remain in the classroom. While most Fellows do not have formal teaching experience, all have demonstrated records of achievement, subject-matter knowledge, and a commitment to raising achievement for all of our students. Fellows are highly qualified and are enrolled in a certification program while teaching full time. This certification program includes attendance at bi-weekly Teaching for Results Seminars.
