The mission of Rwandan Sustainable Families (RSF) is to help Rwandan families in starting small, sustainable businesses and to support education for their children as a means of ending the cycle of poverty. Founded in 2010, RSF currently opperates in the community of Murara, Gisenyi in the Rubavu District of Rwanda.
RSF provides micro-finance loans to families in need and promotes sustainable income generation through the establishment and support of Fair Trade Artisan Cooperatives. The average family loan is $125 which includes a year of eduction for a child and health insurance for all family members.
Our current and long-range goal is to assist the families and communities we serve in creating sustainable buisnesses that will help them to feed and send their children to school, and lead healthier lives.
