  • About Us

The mission of the South River Water Trail is to establish the South River as a valued natural and community resource and refuge for native flora and fauna; and promote the restoration, preservation and conservation of the river through sustainable recreation, environmental education and awareness, and programs that build stewardship.

We are working towards establishing the South River, an urban waterway that travels about 60 miles from the Atlanta airport area to Jackson Lake in Jasper County, as a paddling trail. We are still in the planning stage, but making great progress!
