Founded in 2015, Precision Agriculture for Development (PAD) supports smallholder farmers in developing countries by providing customized information and services that increase productivity, profitability, and environmental sustainability. PAD is working on a new model for agricultural extension: reaching farmers with personalized agricultural advice through their mobile phones. We implement this model in collaboration with partner organizations and gather evidence on its impact. We aim to improve the lives of 100 million farmers in developing countries with our services.
The founding team includes senior professors at Harvard University, as well as experienced management, development and technology professionals, who have decades of combined experience creating impact at scale in the developing world. PAD is a young social enterprise headquartered in Boston, USA and currently operates in India, Kenya, and Pakistan. Apart from direct implementation PAD also supports existing agriculture information players with program design, data analysis, and evaluations. For more information on PAD, please visit www.precisionag.org.
This is a unique opportunity for a person with international development interests to leave a major mark in a rapidly growing organization that has the aspiration, vision, networks, talent, and tenacity to bring about transformational change for smallholder farmers around the world.
