About Us

The Citizens Crime Commission of New York City is a leading nonpartisan nonprofit organization with multidisciplinary expertise that works to improve public safety through innovation. The commission relies on expert insight to invent and implement effective solutions to achieve impact in the areas of criminal and juvenile justice, illegal gun crime, youth violence and cybercrime.

In concert with its initiatives, the Crime Commission convenes forums featuring nationally and internationally prominent experts in the field, hosts informational sessions for international dignitaries, and frequently provides commentary and assistance to the media including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, the New York Daily News, and numerous other print, radio and television outlets throughout New York and the nation. 

The Crime Commission’s initiatives focus on: improving the justice system; reducing gun violence, stopping youth violence, and preventing cybercrime.
