Mission
Community Children's Center works to close the gap in affordable, available, and accessible high-quality early childhood care in Douglas County.
The Community Children’s Center strengthens the Douglas County early childhood community by providing resources, support, and education for families and early childhood care professionals. As a Family Resource Center, we offer an Early Childhood Clothing Closet, Grow & Go playgroups, and the TYKES Online Parent Resource Hub. We are developing two high-quality, Lawrence-based childcare spaces at 4640 W 27th St. and 346 Maine St. in 2024-2025.
About Us
Founded in 1965 to facilitate the Head Start program in Douglas County, Community Children's Center has a rich history of supporting Douglas County's littlest learners. We offer education, support, information, and events to children and families in Doulgas County. Our goal is to bridge the gap in affordable, available, and accessible high-quality care in our community. Come help us build stronger families in Douglas County, Kansas!
