Youth at Risk North Carolina, Inc.

Youth at Risk North Carolina provides mentors, mentoring programs, workshops, and helpful local and government resource information at no cost to teenage girls (mentees) in North Carolina, who are at risk of becoming pregnant, who are pregnant, or who already have children. TheWoman to Womanprogram at Youth at Risk is designed to prevent the participants from dropping out, becoming involved in delinquent behaviors, and becoming permanently dependent on the social service system. Importantly, a goal of the program is to deter the birth of a second child and improve educational outcomes for participants. Through the one-on-one mentoring in the Woman to Woman program the teenage girls realize their true potential and unlock a promising and successful future. In addition this organization is dedicated to reducing the number of teenage pregnancies. Youth at Risk North Carolina, Inc. is a new chapter. The parent organization in New York has been in existence for 20 years and has positively influenced over 6,000 youths using the “Curriculum for Possibility” model.
