  • About Us

Rise University Preparatory is an independent 7th-9th grade school committed to educational excellence, equity and reconciliation. As a small school, Rise Prep provides a challenging academic environment with some of the best teachers around to promote curiosity and wonder; individual support strategies; a loving environment so scholars can grow in maturity of mind and heart—to reason, create, serve and lead.

Rise Prep, rooted in the Bayview, is a non-discriminatory Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofit school that reserves 80% of our seats for scholars from the Bayview neighborhood or scholars who are low-income or first generation college-bound. We welcome students of all backgrounds, interests, and achievement levels and give scholarships to all our students for 90% of the cost of education.

Because of small class sizes, dedicated teachers, hands-on learning, emphasis on character development, and a 9-5 school day, Rise Prep exceeds peer schools nationwide for student growth from Fall to Spring in all academic domains: math, reading, language and science. Growth percentiles are 99th in comparison with like schools (based on students' average starting scores in the Fall).

To make quality education accessible, we work hard to fundraise 90% of the cost of education. With close partnerships with churches, businesses, and other non-profits, we enfold our scholars in a community web of care and support.
