    About Us

    The Ear Research Foundation was founded in 1979 by Dr. Herbert Silverstein initially to continue the research he had been previously engaged in, in an academic settings. In 1983, the Fellowship, a year-long physician training program was added. Shortly after, a Community Care Clinic was established; and the mission of the Ear Research Foundation became three-fold and dedicated to Research,Education, and Community Care relating to hearing and balance issues.

    Ear Research Foundation has three (3) primary programs:

    1. Research: Perform clinical research and studies discovering new treatments and innovative medical techniques for hearing issues, balance and dizziness problems.
    2. Education: Train physicians through a selective one-year, hands-on Fellowship Program and offer Continuing Medical Education conferences for physicians from all around the world; as well as host Lunch and Learn Seminars to help educate the general public on hearing and balance disorder treatment options;
    3. Community Care: Provide screenings, hearing devices, and medical treatments for children, adults, and seniors who could not otherwise afford care on their own; and host support groups for chronic conditions, such as tinnitus.
