About Us

The mission of the USO is to strengthen America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.

The USO of Illinois is a civilian 501(c)(3) registered non-profit that is not government funded but is supported solely by the generosity of the American people.


The USO of Illinois delivers countless acts of caring, comfort, connections and support to nearly 325,000 Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve military and military family members annually, with five USO Centers and hundreds of Military Family and Community Connection Programs.


The USO is chartered by Congress as a non-profit organization. It is not part of the U.S. government, but is recognized by the Department of Defense, Congress and President of the United States, who serves as Honorary Chairman of the USO.
