BACKGROUND 

Promises Helpline Foundation (PhfGhana) is a German - Ghanaian Non Governmental Organization ( NGO ) founded by Mr. Dennis Abi Laryea, a Ghanaian resident in Saabrucken,

Our vision is to compliment the effort of Government by designing programs to help in creating a balanced society.

  1. Sanitation and Environmental Protection.

  2. Human Resource Development and Management

Over the years, our focus has been on Coastal Sanitation, Environmental Protection and Human Resource Development.  

Under our Coastal Sanitation Program, we were able to successfully mobilize community volunteers in the Korle gonno Beach area to participate in the cleaning of the Beach front and to stop people from openly defecating on the beach. We then built the Royal Gulf Club (Human Resource Development Facility); a beach house; that served as our operation base. Our toilet facilities was open to the community as an alternative to openly defecating on the beach. Am happy to say that, the portion of the beach we cleared during the project, is been occupied by two to three star hotels, bars and restaurants including Oceanic Beach Hotel and Sunset Beach resorts. We have 90% of pictures to show.

Some of our unemployed volunteers later, got training as Waiters, Waitress, Life Guards and Security Guards under our Human Resource Development Program. Many of them have found employment at the several beach houses, that has sprang up at the Korle gonno area, as a result our works on the beach front. 

We can confidently say that our efforts have tremendously created Economic activities for the Coastal Community in the Korle gonno ; as businesses around the beach , are buzzing and the numerous unemployed youths in the community have found work to do.

Just as we were getting ready to launch our next Human Resource Development program in Skill acquisition and entrepreneurship for volunteers, our facility was brutally attacked by some people in the community supported by invisible hands; and as result ,our Human Resource Development Facility was demolished and lots of our properties were destroyed and the rest stolen.

Phf Ghana after the incident has been unable to operate properly; our Human Resource Development Program especially, has taken a hard hit. We are cash strapped a backlog of our vulnerable group of volunteers who were awaiting Skills and Entrepreneurship training, have been left with little hope.

The unfortunate, brutal invasion and destruction of our facility has negatively affected the organization, its beneficiaries from the community and the community as a whole due to the role the organization played in empowering residents and maintaining sound environmental practices at the beach.

The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has also increased the anxiety levels among these volunteers and their households. Complaints of food supplies not getting to some them and their inability to fend for themselves has gotten to us; therefore we need your support to alleviate their plight and also prepare them for life after the COVID-19 pandemic.
