About Us

The Salvation Army Westwood Transitional Village is a transitional housing program for homeless families. The property in West Angeles provides low-income families, who have custody of a dependent child a furnished apartment in conjunction with supportives services, including professional case management, life skills classes, a savings program, therapy, childrens recreation, a computer lab, transportation aid, medical and dental care and access to many more community services. Additionally, on the property the program has The Bessie Pregerson Child Development Center, which provides state licensed child care for families at The Village and in the community. The goal of the program is to move each family to permanent housing with in 24 months. Westwood Transitional Village meets The Salvation Army's mission "...to meet human needs in his name without discrimination" specifically for families, with some focuses on veterans and emancipated foster youth.
