    The R.E.C. is a grassroots, environmental justice non-profit organization located in Worcester, MA. Founded in 1971, R.E.C. is dedicated to building healthy, sustainable, and equitable communities in Worcester.

    About Us

    At R.E.C. our work is expanding, and we now conceive of our many initiatives as the branches of two program trees:

    Food Justice Program, which includes

    • UGROW (Urban Garden Resources of Worcester)
    • YouthGROW (Youth Growing and Raising Organics in Worcester)
    • Manage several mobile and stationary farmers markets in Worcester, MA.

    Environmental Health & Justice Program, which includes

    • Food justice
    • WLAC (Worcester Lead Action Collaborative)
    • Diesel Pollution Solution
    • Earth Day Cleanups
    • Public Education & Advocacy
