About Us

Pittsburgh Refugee Center (PRC) was incorporated as a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit in March 2003. Its mission is to empower refugees to become self-sufficient and integrated into their new communities. The work of PRC is grounded in a service philosophy that encourages and ultimately empowers refugees totake control of their lives by becoming active participants in planning and managing their own development. Ultimately, PRC wants refugees in Allegheny County to have an improved quality of life, be fully integrated into their local communities and achieve self-sufficiency through attainment of economic, social, and educational equality.
