Our mission is to support people with disabilities in living independent, self directed, real lives in the community. We focus on removing barriers, building skills, and standing beside people as they advocate for themselves. Our mission is to help people live independently, stay connected in the community, and have real control over their lives. We listen, we support, and we advocate so no one feels like they have to navigate everything alone.
Access Independence is a Center for Independent Living serving people with all types of disabilities. We believe that independence is not defined by where you live or how much support you need. It is defined by having the dignity, respect, and autonomy to make your own decisions.
Our staff includes people with lived disability experience, which means we do not just talk about independence, we live it. We partner with individuals to set goals, build skills, advocate for equal access, transition from institutional settings into the community, and navigate benefits and systems that are often confusing and overwhelming.
We also work at the systems level to educate the community, reduce stigma, and promote accessibility and inclusion. Our goal is simple. A world where people with disabilities are valued, included, and able to participate fully in every area of life. No one gets left behind.
