    About Us

    Read a Book, Earn a Book is a student-centered literacy program offering one-on-one support for second graders in the Charlotte area. Each child chooses a book from a set of pre-selected titles. That book is then read cover to cover with tutor support and "earned" upon completion. It is a simple and successful program.

    Read a Book, Earn a Book promotes literacy by providing engaging reading material in a learning environment that is always safe and supportive. Our approach builds trust, boosts confidence, encourages goal setting, builds personal libraries, and promotes a love of reading. Our reading season is Oct-April.
