Community Food Advocates

  • About Us

Community Food Advocates, founded in 2010, is an organization focused on fighting poverty and hunger in New York City. Our mission is grounded in the belief that access to healthy and nutritious food is a basic income and food equity issue and essential to the quality of life of all New Yorkers.

We believe that government has a fundamental responsibility to establish policies and programs that promote greater access to food for communities living in poverty. To that end we use advocacy, organizing, and coalition building grounded in solid policy and budget analysis to improve New Yorkers’ access to food.
