    Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a national organization whose mission is to eliminate pediatric cancer and to provide hope and support to those who are touched by it. Founded in late 1992 by Kathleen Casey, President and her 8-year-old son, Barrett “Bear” Krupa, just prior to losing his battle with pediatric cancer; It was his inspiration that the organization was born.

    Bear Necessities carries out its mission through three unique programs; The Bear Hugs Program which offers patients comfort and courage through a customized experience, Bear Discoveries (research grants) and Bear Empowerment(support service grants).
