Eliot Church of Newton

  • About Us

Eliot is a welcoming and dynamic congregation of the United Church of Christ (UCC), reflecting the Congregational tradition rooted in New England. Located in Newton Corner, we are a progressive church that takes the Bible seriously but not literally, and believes that God is still speaking to us today. We are a community of believers, seekers, and questioners committed to being on a faith journey together. Eliot strives to weave service and advocacy into the fabric of all we do as an inter-generational community of faith. By doing so we hope to cultivate an awareness that doing justice, serving others, and working for change in our world is a central part of being a Christian. Eliot is an Open and Affirming Church. We believe that ALL people are children of God. We recognize, celebrate, and give thanks for the rich diversity and boundless gifts of all God’s children. We invite those of every race, gender, age, nationality, ethnicity, faith background, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, economic circumstance, marital status, and physical or developmental ability to join us in the full life and ministry of Eliot Church.
