    Our mission is to celebrate and nurture the arts, heritage and cultural contributions of the Black community throughout the Greater Memphis area.

    About Us

    MBAA is headquartered in the FireHouse Community Arts Center, a historic converted 1910 firestation, where folks come together to discover and share their creative gifts, receive from others be entertained and just plain have fun Daily, professionally trained, and experienced, visual and performing artists, many internationally-known, work to provide our area with culturally inspired opportunities to learn, experience, perform, share and celebrate dance, music, theater, visual and literary arts. MBAA's primary programs are the FireHouse Community Arts Academy, ArtsReach, VO!CES AF!RE, FireHouse Presents and the FireHouse Community Arts Festival at Soulsville
