DEARBORN INSTITUTE

  • Mission

The Dearborn Institute provides coaching—the missing link in eating disorder recovery, mental health and LGBTQ wellness—to improve outcomes for women and girls struggling with disordered eating and mental illness.

    About Us

We are a non-profit organization providing services free of charge to women and girls struggling with eating disorders, adolescents on the LGBTQ spectrum and those with mental illness.

Our model adds coaching to conventional eating disorder treatment, empowering individuals to reclaim their lives and reestablish a healthy relationship with food, their bodies, and family. Our goal is to decrease mortality rates from the current 4% and increase success rates from the current 60%. Our approach is to provide individual and group coaching, as well as a short-term residential experience designed to help clients rediscover what brings them joy and envision a future they can control.
