Animal Rescue New Orleans

About Us

Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO) is an organization committed and dedicated to the rescue and aid of animals left homeless in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi. This includes the immediate medical needs of animals, or those neglected, abused and deprived of love. ARNO’s mission has expanded as needs changed post-Katrina. We currently promote the feeding, humane trapping, spay and neuter, foster, adoption, and reunion of animals on the streets with caretakers, as well as spay/neuter of all companion animals. Our future includes becoming a hub to organize needs/resources of independent rescue groups and humane societies via grant and fund solicitation. This will allow us to offer free spay/neuter and inoculations to the public, and other organizations in our area. Additionally a quota pull program from kill shelters would drastically lower companion animals in shelters; funds saved could allow kill shelters to fund adoptions and care for animals. We are committed to helping the animals of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.
