Adult Literacy Project (Linn County Library Consortium)

Albany, OR
|

  • Mission

To foster life-long learning by providing adults opportunities to improve their reading skills, leading to further education, training, or certification; higher wages; participation in their children's schoolwork; and personal satisfaction.

    About Us

The State Library of Oregon has funded a new adult (18+) literacy program designed for those who want to improve their literacy skills and who read below a 5th-grade level. The Linn County Library Consortium and the local GED Network is involved with the project, which is housed on the Linn-Benton Community College campus. Tutoring would happen in public spaces of libraries and community service organizations. This is a completely elective, completely free, volunteer-driven program. It is scheduled to begin actively working with tutees in November 2019.
