    Freedom Institute is a nonprofit resource center for individuals and families affected by alcohol and drug dependency. Freedom Institute offers a continuum of care for adults (including individual and group counseling, outpatient treatment and aftercare) and families (including family therapy, support groups) in New York City. The Institute has earned a reputation for sensitive, effective service through its commitment to a confidential and personalized approach. The clinical staff of the Institute includes a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who serves as medical advisor, and adult and family counselors who have specific training in the treatment of chemical dependency. The majority of the counseling staff hold graduate degrees in social work, psychology and counseling. The Institute is licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
