  • Mission

Boys to Men Mentoring offers adolescent boys the chance to meet weekly in a group with 2-4 adult male mentors and a dozen male peers. Programs are available both during and after school hours, with our most successful programs occurring during the school day. In Boys to Men groups, participants discuss common challenges adolescent males face as they transition to adulthood. Topics include integrity, peer pressure, accountability, respect, handling negative emotions positively, building healthy relationships, goal setting, and addressing current life issues the boys bring to the group. Our mentorship circles create a safe space where boys can express their feelings, share difficulties, and talk about their challenges. Often, this support is enough to keep them on a positive path. Every day, boys are joining gangs, dropping out of school, and turning to drugs or alcohol to cope with life’s pressures. Boys to Men Mentoring offers a much better alternative.

    About Us

Becoming a mentor with Boys to Men Mentoring begins by volunteering at a local school. Mentors are the foundation of our organization-without them, our program couldn’t thrive. We provide stipends for our lead mentors and program facilitators.

Our mentors are men who care deeply about supporting boys and young men in our communities. A volunteer mentor commits to spending an hour per week with boys in a classroom setting, about a half hour per week preparing and debriefing the group experience and one hour per month on a mentorship call with other mentors and a trainer throughout the school year.
