About Us

Pawster Nashville's mission is to end pet homelessness before it begins. We do this through Crisis Fostering for pets: When a pet owner is in crisis - eviction, hospitalization, domestic violence, addiction, incarceration - we place their cat or dog in a foster home until the owner is back on their feet. This keeps another pet from entering an overpopulated shelter system, and it keeps the family together.

We serve any pet owner in Nashville, TN, who is in crisis and is temporarily unable to care for their pet. Most of our clients fall below the $50,000 household income level, but we serve anyone who has no other choice.

We believe in the dignity of all people and all pets. Experiencing a crisis should not cause anyone to lose their cat or dog.

We are looking for volunteers to serve as foster homes, drivers, animal care liaisons, in addition to anyone with skills in social media, grant-writing, website development, etc.

Pawster Nashville applied for 501(c)(3) status on July 23, 2020.
