Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County
Since 1995, it has been the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Our core belief is that our Clubs provide Members with:
- a safe place to learn and grow,
- ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals,
- life-enhancing programs and character development experiences,
- hope and opportunity.
During the 2015 – 2016 school year, we will provide direct services to over 1,800 youth in Skagit County. Each and every day at our Clubhouses we offer a variety of Targeted Programs aimed at helping Members achieve the Priority Outcomes of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and, Good Character & Citizenship.
These programs include:
Project Learn reinforces the academic enrichment and school engagement through fun and academically beneficial, activities. These high-yield learning activities include leisure reading, homework help, tutoring and games that develop young people's cognitive skills.
The Year of Service provides Club Members with year round opportunities to enjoy the life-long benefits of service and civic engagement. Our Touch Club and Keystone programs allow Members to plan and implement a variety of projects to make meaningful change in their communities. At the conclusion of the school year we recognize Members with the President's Volunteer Service Award.
Triple Play is a comprehensive health and wellness program which strives to improve the overall health of Club Members by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships. Each day at our Club, Members participating in a Daily Fitness Challenge and are given healthy, nutritious snacks as part of our Positive Sprouts program.
